I purchased this solid wood panel a while back because I thought it would make for an interesting painting surface but then it sat around for a while because I couldn't figure out what subject would properly utilize the shape. One day, I realized it would be perfect for a flower. I then decided to paint the back of a rose since the front side always get all of the glory.
